Industry: Manufacturing / Former Plastics Plant
Challenge: Logistically difficult due to remnant historical structures, such as old tank pads, still in place. Stringent goal of 0.01 ft LNAPL required for redevelopment.
Solution: ERFS replaced skimming system which made little progress in seven years of operations. ERFS used in situ chemical and biological treatment to remove free product, achieving completion goals within 18 months. The site is currently under redevelopment without restrictions.

Challenge: Residual impacts upgradient of treatment area were found under/around site building. Primary consultant excavating impacted soil.
Solution: Treatment area successfully remediated with in situ chemical oxidation in combination with a consultant’s excavation. ERFS is on standby if contamination from under the building is detected.

Challenge: Thick No. 6 Fuel Oil release affecting 25 ft thick zone of soil and groundwater.
Solution: Implemented pilot test around well with 7 ft of LNAPL to reach 'no sheen' condition for 3 months. Consultant negotiating cleanup goals with state; full scale to follow.

Solution: Utilized former solvent disposal sumps and new IW (injection wells) to treat CVOC via sequential fenton-like and permanganate treatment

Challenge: Attempt a source removal at large area threatening the drinking water supply for a city
Solution: ERFS conducted simultaneous treatment through 160 injection points in two month period to affect 70% reduction in contaminant mass in stratified soils, achieving project goals
